• CybSafe offers free cybersecurity awareness modules

        • As part of the global effort to limit the impact of coronavirus, cybersecurity awareness and data analytics platform, CybSafe, has released three of its premium cybersecurity awareness modules for free to all organisations.

For three months, businesses and individuals working from home can access CybSafe’s ‘Remote Working Pack’, which includes three modules designed to keep people safe from harm whilst working from home:

          • Social Engineering - a module which teaches people to identify and avoid social cyberattacks such as spoofing, phishing and baiting.
          • Public Wifi - which helps people to recognise insecure wifi hotspots, set up a VPN, and use networks securely while working remotely.
          • Device Security - which provides practical know-how to protect personal information on personal and work devices.

Each module takes up to 10 minutes, so the remote working bundle can even be completed during a lunch break.

The modules include informative videos, tips from Cybsafe’s cybersecurity experts, true-to-life examples of attacks and risks, and practical exercises to test knowledge and ingrain positive security behaviours. Registrants also gain access to CybSafe Assist and Protect tools, which helps to put good security behaviours into practice and provides answers for common security questions.

Oz Alashe MBE, CEO of CybSafe said, “with the spread of coronavirus in the UK and around the world, many organisations are deciding that their staff should work from home. Unfortunately, this introduces new cybersecurity challenges and risks which must be managed and mitigated. At CybSafe, we want to help secure people and organisations as they make this transition.

“The remote working bundle, as well as CybSafe Protect and Assist, will help organisations tackle some of the main threats that exist for remote workers. Social engineering attacks are one notable attack vector, with cybercriminals preying on fears of the coronavirus and sending phishing emails that try to trick users into clicking on a link to a bad website. Other cyber attacks which are particularly relevant to remote workers concern incorrect wifi use and poor device security.”
