Last month saw the 75th annual UKWA awards take place at The Dorchester in London and DURABLE was awarded the 'Environmental Award' for 2019.
The awards are designed to recognise excellence across companies operating within the logistics industry and to bring everyone together for an afternoon of celebration. The 'Environmental Award' is given to the company that best demonstrates a commitment to sustainability and the most successful application of energy efficient processes aimed at cost savings and/or carbon reduction.
Peter Ward, UKWA CEO said, "UKWA's Annual Lunch and Awards has always been widely regarded as one of the premier occasions in the logistics industry's calendar, but this year felt extra special. Perhaps it was the presence of HRH The Princess Royal or the fact that throughout 2019 UKWA is commemorating its 75th year, but there was certainly a 'buzz' among the sell-out crowd at the Dorchester throughout the day."
DURABLE has taken several steps to reduce its environmental impact including making continual improvements to its manufacturing processes as well as installing solar panels, energy recovery systems, and energy-efficient lighting.
Kate Robson, Sales Manager at DURABLE UK added, "it was a pleasure to join in the celebrations of the UKWA's 75th-anniversary awards, it was an exceptional event bringing together the UK logistics industry for an afternoon of celebration, awards, and networking. We are thrilled to win the 'Environmental Award' in which we demonstrated how we strive to make changes across our entire supply chain and help protect our world in the future."
