fi Series image scanner driver now available for macOS

PFU Limited, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Ltd has announced the availability of free macOS driver software downloads. The driver allows Mac users to operate the FUJITSU Image Scanner fi Series.

Operating environments in sectors like healthcare have dramatically changed in recent years as web applications and cloud services continue to drive increased adoption of macOS. The availability of the driver software ensures that PFU can meet the needs of its entire customer base, regardless of the operating system they work with.

Mike Nelson, Senior Vice President at PFU (EMEA) said, "the availability of the macOS driver software means that our fi Series is now available on all three major desktop operating systems. In addition to macOS, we continue to provide driver support for Windows OS, which is most commonly used in business environments as well as Linux OS, which helps us address the needs of customers in newly-developing countries that are facing cost constraints."

The macOS driver software update supports Image Capture (macOS bundled application) as well as the Image Capture Application (ICA) interface. The Image Capture from the driver can be used as a common interface for importing data, enabling users to scan through business systems on macOS.

Image Capture's simple user interface and the integrated driver's automation function allow users to easily save scanned images in a PDF format. The software provides a variety of functions, such as cropping, blank page detection, and image correction which contributes to reducing the time and effort it takes to perform these tasks. These functions increase the efficiency of document digitisation without the need to perform time-consuming operations, such as dividing documents according to the document type in advance.

With this additional driver software, more users can enjoy the fi Series, Fujitsu's top brand of image scanners across office environments regardless of the operating system they choose.
