Clive Selley, newly appointed Openreach CEO
Current CEO of BT Technology Service and Operations (BT TSO), Clive Selley, is to replace Joe Garner as CEO of Openreach in this quarter.
Clive’s appointment ties in with the tenth anniversary of Openreach, BT’s local access network business. He will bring a wealth of technological and management experience to the role, having served in many senior positions with BT already. Specialising in networks, software development, IT and engineering, Clive’s current role sees him responsible for 12,000 staff, 8,000 contractors and a multi-billion-pound budget.
Clive Selley spoke today about the importance of customer service and the crucial role Openreach’s engineers play. He added, “Openreach is at the heart of the UK economy with our open access network underpinning a ferociously competitive broadband market That has benefited consumers and businesses greatly. I am honoured to have been asked to lead Openreach at this important point in its history.”
Having worked for BT, Clive has been at the forefront of innovation including developments in fibre broadband with doubling speeds in 2012 and research into G. Fast technology.
