Royal Mail has announced a number of enhancements to its international portfolio including a free weekend collection for customers in England and Wales and extensions to current services.
The free weekend collection service is now available to business customers in England and Wales sending a minimum of 50 international parcels, enabling them to submit items for delivery up until 19.00 on Saturday and 16:00 on Sunday.
Royal Mail has also extended its International Tracked product to customers sending parcels to Russia, Cyprus and Lebanon. This takes the number of countries covered by the International Tracked product to 44. The Track and Trace function has also been enhanced on the website (www.royalmail.com) to give customers direct access to tracking information from the destination country.
Other recent changes to the international portfolio include the ability to ship to 200 countries to the Click and Drop shipping tool and enabling Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 high volume customers to post their export parcels at the same time as their domestic parcels.
Nick Landon, Managing Director Royal Mail Parcels said, “helping UK SMEs to grow their business through exporting to international markets is a big priority for us. Our focus has been on making it easier to ship internationally by continuously improving convenience and the range of services available. We will continue to innovate to help our customers realise their growth ambitions.”
Royal Mail recently announced it has joined forces with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council to launch a three-year programme aimed at encouraging UK SMEs to export to the Commonwealth. Royal Mail is also a partner of the Government’s recently launched “Exporting is GREAT” initiative which aims to inspire and support 100,000 additional exporters by 2020.
