• Boring isn’t an option: adding flair to your office

        • When you think of what the office might be like at an accountancy firm or insurance company, your first thought may be less than inspiring with very little excitement. But the truth is, those who take office design seriously don’t follow this assumption. Instead, they provide creative spaces that inspire staff. This is according to CBS Office Interiors.

          Employees spend most of their waking hours at work so, from a recruitment point of view, it is vital to create a space that they enjoy coming to every day. One where they feel happy, motivated and inspired to do remarkable things. Happy staff are also the people that will want to stay with a company for a long time to come.

          So, when it comes to attracting and retaining quality talent in a competitive market, think outside the box, no matter if you’re a household B2C brand or a large-scale corporate firm. Adding flair and being creative doesn’t mean having a beer fridge or a slide in the office either; subtle tweaks can make the biggest difference.

          Bespoke solutions

          CBS understands that what works in some companies and for some employees, may not work for others.           For Interacts’ many employees who cycle to work, CBS created a wall-mounted bike rack to not only create a feature in the space but also to encourage others to take this initiative by making it safe and easy to store their bike at work.

          Ascot Racecourse needed to facilitate their employees getting ready for their many events throughout the year, with little time. CBS, therefore, included a vanity area in the office design to enable each staff member to store personal items and put the finishing touches to their outfit, in order to ensure they practise the company ethos ahead of stepping out in front of clients. 

          Creating a vibrant workspace

          No matter what their specific needs, it is paramount to always work closely with clients to create a vibrant and engaging workspace that complements their company culture, values, and processes. Before commencing any project, we will have an initial discussion with our clients to scope out their top-level requirements – taking the time to explore the needs of their business and employees.

          Once we have a thorough understanding of this, we can begin the design process and start to explore how we will elevate the space.

          Seeing employees’ reactions to their new workspace and then experiencing a happy workforce is priceless. Plus, research shows that happy people are more productive workers. So not only will a positive work environment encourage staff loyalty, but it will also improve efficiency and collaboration.
