• Brother launches cloud MPS to public sector

        • Brother UK is targeting increased sales among small to medium sized public sector organisations for its Managed Print Service (MPS), following its appointment to the Government’s G-Cloud 9 Framework.

The company’s cloud-based MPS sees its devices share data on usage levels, toner and maintenance requirements to a central cloud system.

Phil White, Managed Print Sales Manager at Brother UK said, “a huge breadth of organisations in the public sector want to get access to the efficiencies and peace of mind that managed print services bring. We’ve seen some larger public sector organisations save six-figures off their printing bill through MPS and so we’re hoping our new cloud-based MPS will open up similar opportunities for smaller organisations.”

Brother’s OmniJoin system has also been accredited for use through the Government’s G-Cloud 9 framework. The cloud-based web-conferencing solution has been available through previous iterations of G-Cloud since 2015. The system can help public sector organisations meet their aims of collaborating more effectively while reducing the time they need to spend travelling between meetings. It also includes data encryption and security protocols that help to ensure the safety of data transferred using the system.

A pre-requisite of achieving a place on the G-Cloud 9 Framework is compliance with the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The framework is managed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and enables simpler and faster procurement of cloud-based services for organisations across the public sector.
