• Chrisbeon to support Climbing Out charity

        • Shropshire supplier of office furniture and stationery, Chrisbeon has named the charity it will be supporting for the next 12 months as Climbing Out. The charity, formed seven years ago, works with young people facing life changing injury, illness or trauma.

After suffering a life changing leg injury herself in 2002, founder Kelda Wood set up the charity following the dramatic effect the outdoors had on her own physical and mental recovery. As a result, Climbing Out now runs five-day residential outdoor activity programmes which aim to help re-build confidence and self-esteem in young people whose lives have been affected by a serious injury, illness or trauma.

As a Chamber Patron, Chisbeon adopts a charity for the year. Each charity is nominated by a Patron and receives free Chamber membership for the year along with the help and support of the total Patron and Chamber network.

Richard Hughes, Chrisbeon partner said, “as one of the Patron companies of Shropshire Chamber, we are delighted to get involved with the latest development in our Patron programme.”

Kelda Wood said, “as Climbing Out has grown, we need a much stronger network of support and contacts. Networking is most important and we need to meet people to build our network of contacts.

“For Climbing Out to run successfully we need to have this solid foundation in place that will support us to do the life changing work we do. I'm sure the new partnership will be a massive help towards us raising awareness and getting the support that our structure needs to continue doing its life-saving work.”

Richard Sheehan, Shropshire Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive added, “Shropshire Chamber is totally committed to making a positive difference within the business and wider communities of our county.

“Our Patrons’ support is vital, allowing us to do more than we otherwise could and we are delighted with the response we have received, helping us to support the 3rd sector and the fantastic work they do on the ground.”
