• Civica acquires school management cloud software specialist Parago

        • Civica, experts in software for public services, has acquired school management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, Parago Software Limited and its subsidiary, Parago Software Inc.

Complementing Civica’s global presence in the education sector, Parago supports more than 2,000 education customers around the world. Its software helps to manage estates and assets and share resources between multiple sites.

The company has seen sustained year-on-year growth since founding in 2010 and assists the education sector to operate more efficiently, helping customers to stay compliant, manage contracts and prevent unnecessary expenditure via a comprehensive cloud software suite.

Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO said, “our software is helping 6,000 schools and colleges around the world to improve teaching, learning and administration and we’re delighted to welcome Parago to the Civica Group. With a growing demand for cloud software to enable school managers to work remotely and accurately to maintain school compliance, we look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”

In line with the Group’s strategy and sector focus, the acquisition provides a new capability to Civica’s education portfolio which includes financial management, education and resource management, parent payments, cashless catering, catering management and HR and payroll. Parago’s software suite and sector expertise will also benefit Civica’s existing asset management capability in housing and transport.

Based in Reading, Parago’s school asset management software comprises a range of modules managing IT and inventory, premises and compliance, and incident and workflow. The company’s existing customers include Oasis Community Learning Trust, REAch2 Academy Trust, Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust and Alleghany School District, North Carolina.

Tim Roots, Managing Director of Parago added, “our priority remains to help education customers around the globe to save time, stay compliant and work smarter due to enhanced technology. We’re very pleased to be joining the Civica Group at an important time which will bring us joint opportunities to broaden capability, reach new customers and develop future innovative products together.”
