• Derwent Art Prize 2016 announce they’re open for entries

        • Global pencil manufacturers, Derwent have announced that their third annual Derwent Art Prize competition is open for entries.

          Artwork submitted by 80 chosen entrants will be showcased at the Mall Galleries, London from 19th – 24th September and prize money of £12,400 will be awarded in a private awards ceremony on the opening night of the exhibit. Astri Saunders, Marketing Manager at Derwent said, “we are proud to launch the Derwent Art Prize for the third year. Our aim of the exhibition is to showcase artworks created in pencil and increase the profile ad importance of drawing as a fine art medium.”

          British and International artists will be welcomed to enter as since it began, the competition has attracted more than 4000 entries from 67 countries. The entries will be judged by a panel of experts in the industry and prizes will be awarded for first place (£6,000), second place (£3,500), third place (£1,000), two People’s Choice Awards (£700 each), and a Young Artist Award for under 25s (£500).

          Deadlines for entries is 1st June and artists can submit up to six pieces at www.derwent-artprize.com.
