DisplayNote, a collaborative technology company, has announced the launch of Omni, a new meeting room software application.
Omni aims to solve the issues that can lead to the underuse of meeting room equipment and see people default to their laptops, by enabling users to wirelessly host conference calls from their own laptops while leveraging the room's high-quality displays, cameras, microphones, and speakers.
Ed Morgan, COO of DisplayNote said, "Omni is cable-free so simple and easy to use and ensures that meeting room technology is used to its full potential. We previewed it earlier this year at ISE and had a great response, so are very much looking forward to sharing Omni with the InfoComm audience.”
Omni operates like a virtual USB cable: it searches the local network for enabled devices to connect to, whether display, camera, or microphone. Once connected, the user can utilise the room’s AV hardware from their own laptop. And what’s on the laptop screen is on the large meeting room display – everyone can see it.
