An action-packed agenda and a James Bond-themed VIP night will ensure Duplo’s London Calling will be another unmissable event in the UK print industry calendar.
Hundreds of visitors will also get first-hand of one of the city’s iconic venues, Sunbeam Studios, in Ladbroke Hall, North Kensington, which was the site of the first purpose-built car factory and show-room in the UK.
Now celebrating its seventh year, London Calling has an enviable reputation for showcasing latest innovations from print finishing pioneer Duplo and its selected partners. But make sure you sign up soon on this dedicated microsite to ensure your free entry.
Added attractions for London Calling 2015 from 3-4 November will include at least six new product launches and the inaugural London meeting of the Duplo Owners’ Club focussing on the Best Bond for perfect binding solutions. There will be a meeting of the HP Young Entrepreneurs’ Network and a BPIF Apprentices’ Forum, as well as a PrintIT! School visit for winners of a competition – all designed to promote and showcase young talent into the print industry.
Duplo’s most powerful all-in-one digital colour multi-finishing system, the DC-746, gets its first UK showing at London Calling. Major new advantages of this slitter/cutter/creaser include improved versatility and performance, a new waste management system, new end trim air blade and a wider range of formulating modules, which ensure there is no slowdown in productivity in any applications.
Duplo’s Job Creator Software also allows the operator to create PDF templates, which include barcode and image recognition marks at the touch of a button. The DC-746 is also designed to open up new markets in direct mail, such as perforated tickets and coupons.
Unveiled too will be the new 600i Duetto System – linking the 600 and 600i models into one system, which will be running with a DSF-2200 sheet-feeder. The launch will once again underline Duplo’s unrivalled position as the provider of the widest range of finishing systems in the print industry.
With ever-increasing focus on photobook technology, Duplo will also be launching the Powis PhotoPress system, a fast and easy way of turning single-side digital print into distinctive photobooks. It uses pressure instead of heat to laminate single-sided prints to Powis Signature sheets.
Duplo is also launching the PFI COAT 300i system, which is a standalone, fully automated coater for applying an all-over UV varnish to give extremely high-value products from both digital and offset prints.
And answering customer demands to introduce a cost-effective , table-top version of its flagship model, the Fujipla ALM 3220 Automatic Laminator, is the global launch of the Fujipla ALM3230 system.
Another ‘first’ will involve experts from the money-lending world providing practical advice for showgoers on the range of options available when financing new assets. The finance partners on site will be Close Brothers, Clear Asset Finance, Compass Business Finance and Five Arrows Business Finance.
