        • Great openings with OPEX OMATION

Global specialist OPEX say the OMATION range of products simply represents the most comprehensive and cost-effective entry level range of postal processing options for guaranteed fast, safe and accurate mailopening .

The OMATION Model 2112™ is a compact Envelopener designed for mailrooms and offices with volumes of 200 or more envelopes per day. Fast and efficient,it can process up to 400 envelopes per minute. The milling cutter technology, completely opens envelopes without any damage to contents, allowing fast extraction and eliminating the frustration and increased handling partial-opening can cause. A digital counter and bin full indicator for the cuttings are included as standard. The company says Model 2112 offers quality, accuracy, and advanced technology at great value.

The OMATION Quiet Jog™ offers accurate alignment of various sized mail, cheques, and documents. For efficient mail processing, this document jogger moves contents away from the envelope and justifies content edges, helping to prevent jams during envelope opening. The Quiet Jog is a valuable addition to mailrooms, offices, remittance processing centres, and printing operations. It works effectively for a variety of document processing needs in a variety of configurations.

OPEX go on to say that combining their latest mail opening technology with refined ergonomics, the OMATION Model 306 sets a new standard for high volume mail processing. The refined and quiet milling cutter removes chips as small as 0.01" from the envelope edge for safe and secure extraction. The new fully-featured operator control software allows for more flexibility and easier job setup. With breakthrough feeder speeds up to 40,000 envelopes per hour, the Model 306 can reliably open envelopes more efficiently than ever and offers three available mail tray holders for optimised convenience and workflow enhancement. A high-speed optional HP inkjet printer provides date coding, sequential numbering, messaging, and ID tag barcoding while a stats printer (optional) provides additional statistics reports for monitoring performance. The Model 306 is available with enhanced sorting capabilities, known as the Model 306s. Sorting, with optional batching, can be output to two locations based on programmable criteria such as thickness, length, and height. Additionally, a 90° powered conveyor can add capacity and allow the operator more space to manage the output. The 306s is a perfect fit for applications that require verification of contents either before or after extraction like claims processing, remittance, and vote-by-mail. The Model 306s can also separate standard reply mail from other mail types which may contain additional pages or use non-uniform envelopes sizes. Via the ability to identify "clean mail" from "exception mail," the Model 306s helps to insure maximum productivity from extraction equipment by allowing operators to concentrate on extracting envelope contents from "clean" batches instead of trying to handle "exceptions" at the same time.
