Knightsbridge Furniture's Design & Development Manager celebrates milestone

After 13 years of service, Knightsbridge Furniture is celebrating the work of Design & Development Manager, Catherine Hawcroft.

After completing her degree in Furniture & Product Design at Nottingham Trent University and spending two years designing fitted bedrooms, the opportunity arose for Catherine to join the Knightsbridge team through the University of Bradford via a Knowledge and Transfer Partnership (KTP). Whilst undergoing the KTP programme, she also completed a Diploma in Management and Leadership with the Chartered Management Institute, and after her two-year placement ended, she was invited to join Knightsbridge on a permanent basis.

According to Knightsbridge, Catherine’s role has adapted and evolved since she joined in 2009, but she made sure to never lose sight of her original aim, which was to always challenge the reasons why Knightsbridge works the way it does. She continues to improve Knightsbridge’s methods and processes and ensures the business maintains its high quality and consistency.

Knightsbridge designs, develops and manufactures every piece of furniture in-house. Catherine highlights that one of the biggest benefits of working at Knightsbridge is having the design department located in the factory where the furniture is produced, so alterations and improvements are much quicker to turnaround.

Catherine’s involvement in the entire lifecycle of products, supporting the factory and sales team, and working with component suppliers, make her a core part of Knightsbridge’s success.
