Mabey Hire, part of bridge and engineering specialist Mabey Group, is transforming its working practices by partnering with enterprise mobility and IT specialist, Intercity Technology.
With the help of Vodafone, Intercity Technology will supply Mabey Hire with an upgraded network, ran on fibre MPLS. The private network will provide the company with the bandwidth needed to roll out 250 employee mobile devices, equipped with Intercity Technology’s unified communications solution, Touch Technology.
Through Touch Technology, employees will be able to work and communicate while working remotely or from one of Mabey Hire’s 17 sites. The improved network, along with the 24/7 support of Intercity Technology’s dedicated teams, will provide the engineering and construction services provider with the necessary infrastructure to streamline its operations and save on IT costs.
Paul Uttley, Head of IT, Business Systems and Business Intelligence at Mabey Hire said, “Intercity has been a trusted partner for Mabey Hire for the last three years. It has not only provided robust and efficient solutions but has also acted as an extension of our technology department and kept us up to date with latest in WAN, cloud, mobile and security innovations.
“We are now entering into a new network and security design which is both scalable and economical and will support our business in its mission – to help our customers deliver their projects more quickly, safely and efficiently.”
The partnership will also see a number of projects evolve, including the redesign of Mabey Hire’s Wide Area Network (WAN), which will involve simplifying the network to remove unnecessary complexities, as well as implementing additional measures to bolster its security.
Lee Hull, Executive Director at Intercity Technology added, “it’s been a pleasure to work with Mabey Hire over the past three years. From WAN and cloud, to mobile and security, we’ve helped the company to mitigate security risks, harness technology, and facilitate growth.
“Implementing this new network and Touch Technology will enable Mabey Hire’s workforce to become more mobile than ever, helping it to work more efficiently and focus on the company’s aim to become the leading provider of high-quality equipment and services to companies in the engineering and construction industries.”
