• New Konica Minolta office series puts special focus on mobile printing

        • With the bizhub 227 and bizhub 287, Konica Minolta introduces the first two products of a new series of office multifunctionals that will enhance the mobility of knowledge workers in busy offices.

Featuring state-of-the-art mobile applications providing the convenience of BYOD, the 22 and 28 ppm devices also impress with their intuitive ease of use, easy integration and high security standard.

Whether colour or black and white, Konica Minolta’s A3 office portfolio is characterised by product unification and consistency of operation across different devices, common features and functionality, as well as easy integration and intuitive usability. The new bizhub 227 and bizhub 287 add latest, state-of-the-art technology with a special focus on enhancing the mobility of knowledge workers.

Integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) ensures easy and convenient authentication, when simply walking up to the output device. Thanks to NFC, pairing with the user’s tablet or smartphone happens automatically and provides convenient touch-to-print as well as touch-to-scan – a welcome function that facilitates mobile printing. Connectivity to the bizhub 227 or bizhub 287 is also ensured e.g. via Google Cloud Print. Both devices also feature integrated panel customisation possibilities and web access.

These new devices are innovative and productive beyond the mobility aspects: They easily handle all the daily document tasks typical of a busy office and impress with their high productivity, top performance and versatile finishing capabilities. The 7-inch operation panel, compact size and reduced unit weight stand add to user convenience. Equipped with one or more of the different finishing options that provide stapling, punching and booklet production, both devices will speedily produce many of the more demanding or voluminous print jobs, which previously would have been outsourced. This makes the bizhub 227 and bizhub 287 the logical choice for small to mid-sized teams and workgroups, in both public and private sectors.

“Konica Minolta’s comprehensive A3 product range is already recognised as outstanding by analysts and industry insiders,” Says Malcolm Smith, Marketing Product Manager, Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK, and continues: “These new devices further enhance an already robust line up. Their smart new features offer today’s mobile workers great benefits and even more flexibility. The option of extensive customisation of the systems’ setup and operation to individual user preferences is a really exciting addition! Customers who don’t always require colour printing can make tangible savings with these products without compromising on quality or convenience.”

The company says another important advantage, the bizhub 227 and bizhub 287 provide new levels of eco-friendliness. Thanks to various hardware improvements, the generally minimal power consumption of bizhub devices could be further reduced resulting in a truly minimal typical energy consumption (TEC) value. Besides protecting the environment and ensuring enhanced sustainability with reduced CO2 emissions, this also means lower energy costs that bring attractive savings.
