ORGATEC 2016 has announced that there will be a second theme day this year on ‘The Future of Work,’ for works councils, staff councils and representatives for severely disabled employees.
The second theme day will include discussion rounds and expert talks on what influence the changing worlds of work are having on daily work and how this change can be actively managed.
The discussions will take a close look at how flexible office work should be, or has to be, given the changes currently taking place as a result of digitalisation and the changing demands on employees. Participants will focus on how people, technology and organisations could interact in the future and how employees can be involved in this transformation. The question of whether these changes will mean greater time freedom and location freedom for employees will also be discussed.
The theme day will start with a welcome address by Rainer Schmeltzer, Minister for Employment, Integration and Social Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. His address will be followed by a talk by Benjamin Mikfeld, Head of Department at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, on the digital transformation of tomorrow’s office work.
The discussion round will then look at the issues raised in his talk in greater depth, with participants finishing off the afternoon with two ‘themed guided tours’, exploring sub-themes of ‘Digitalisation — Holistic concepts for the shift to Office 4.0’ and ergonomics and creative workplace design.
The theme day will be organised by the DGB’s Educational Institute for North Rhine-Westphalia. Registrations are now open — contact the DGB’s Educational Institute for North Rhine-Westphalia (DGB-Bildungswerk NRW).
