• Sennheiser’s headsets target sensitive data protection

        • Audio manufacturers Sennheiser are targeting their headset solutions to healthcare, government, financial, and legal sectors who require sensitive data to be protected.

The headsets include NoiseGard, active noise cancellation to block out background noise, SpeakFocus, which zooms in on user’s voice to offer crystal clarity in different sound environments, and a three digital microphone system for audio performance.

Jane Craven, Sennheiser’s Sales Director IT/Telecommunications, UK & Ireland said, “by ensuring that our headsets deliver the very latest in noise cancellation, voice clarity and transmission quality, these companies can ensure their operators are best prepared to deal with customer information and keep sensitive date private and secure.”

Organisations are required to meet standards set by the Data Protection Act in healthcare and PCI compliance standards in retail as well as protecting personal data in government and finance. This means that all need to adopt strict measures to avoid, in some cases, being fined. Sennheiser believe their ‘premium’ headsets, available in wired, wireless, Bluetooth, DECT and mobile models, are the answer.

Jane adds, “the ability to efficiently handle sensitive patient or customer data in these sectors is paramount, so the ability of the hardware to make this possible is equally important. If an agent can’t understand responses and these have to be repeated or read back for confirmation, this can significantly increase the risk of a leak of sensitive information in a public setting.”
