Sheaffer is calling all designers and artists across London to get involved with a competition to celebrate creative minds throughout history. Sheaffer is asking entrants to create the official show poster for Lucy Parham’s Sheaffer Sunday Matinees, which begin on 24th September 24th.
The winning design will be displayed throughout the St John's, Smith Square venue whilst the winning designer will receive four tickets to a Sheaffer Sunday Matinee show of their choice and lunch in the Footstool restaurant plus some Sheaffer goodies.
Designers are being directed to combine the theme of the shows with Sheaffer’s theme of ‘Ingiting your Curiosity’ to create head turning and bold posters, encouraging young and old to take a seat in the 289-year-old auditorium. All entries will be judged by Lucy Parham, composer and writer of the Sheaffer Sunday Matinees, and Nicola Shepherd, Sales and Marketing Director at the A.T. Cross Company.
Nicola Shepherd, Sales and Marketing Director at the A.T. Cross Company said, “the Sheaffer Sunday Matinees are an event we look forward to every year. This year we want to get more people involved across the capital. This is ideal for us to work alongside some of the most upcoming designers demonstrating their individual style and flair. We can’t wait to see a whole host of designs and look forward to some tight judging.”
Starring Sense and Sensibility’s Dame Harriet Walter and Blackadder’s Tim McInnerny, Lucy’s series of shows celebrate the experiences of composers and how their music has been created based on their life experiences, entitled Composer Portraits. The annual productions are all written by the pianist, based on her own extensive research, and focus on the hidden stories of Europe’s greatest composers including Robert Schumann, Frederic Chopin and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
All entries for the competition must be received by midnight on the 10th September either by post to 6 Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4BL or via email to dan@smallmanmedia.com.
