As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, STAEDTLER is running an event every month during 2016 in association with environmental charity Groundwork Wales. The October event saw the company sponsoring a day of activities for over 40 children from Glyngaer Primary School in Parc Penallta on 19th October.
The October event was run in association with Groundwork Wales’ health and wellbeing programme Go Green for Health (GG4H) and supported by Ben Sands, a Parc Penallta ranger. The theme of the day was ‘trees’ incorporating different measurement techniques, identifying various species and understanding the woodland habitat. The children enjoyed sharing time with each other, trying out the new activities, and being out in the fresh air with open spaces to run around and play.
Gareth Evans, Senior Health Coach, GG4H said, “the day was a great success, encapsulating the main message of the GG4H project in encouraging the children to be active in the outdoors for the benefit of their physical and mental wellbeing. The children really enjoyed the activities delivered by Groundwork and the Rangers from Parc Penallta, particularly measuring the height of trees with just the aid of a STAEDTLER pencil."
