• Staples.co.uk makes donation to Help a Child to Learn Campaign

        • Staples.co.uk, which is now part of the EVO Group of Companies, delivered over £22k of school and stationery supplies to support the Help a Child to Learn campaign. The delivery included a range of stationery and educational supplies from pens, paper, crayons, maths sets, stickers and scientific calculators to support children’s home learning during the pandemic.

Help a Child to Learn is a joint appeal by the Daily Mirror and National Education Union which aims to help every child get the education they deserve during the Covid crisis by providing children and schools with the vital supplies they need.

Steve Howarth, CEO, EVO Group said, “We are genuinely privileged to be able to give back in such a small way to this worthwhile cause. Staples, which is now part of the EVO family, recognises the importance of quality educational supplies to support learning and we want to be able to help our customers, many of whom are school and parents and carers, during this difficult time.”

Dr Mary Boustead, Joint General Secretary, National Education Union said, “Staples’ generous donation will help so many children and young people continue to access education from home safely by providing the vital learning resources they urgently need. By standing with teachers, support staff and heads – all of whom have gone above and beyond to support pupils throughout the pandemic – Staples are showing their commitment to the community and their support for our hard-working schools.”

Part of the £22K donation from Staples.co.uk, has been gifted to West End Juniors Football Club in Huddersfield, which is local to the EVO offices in Wakefield. Team Coach Sean Weatherhead and the youth team are putting together over 1,000 packs to be distributed to children locally to help them with their home learning.
