Founded on the 17th February 1936, global adhesive tape manufacturer, tesa, is celebrating their 80th birthday this week with a brand new look and a slightly different interpretation for its industry, professional, and consumer markets.
The company was founded by Elsa Tesmer, an office manager in the Beiersdorf company’s Hamburg HQ. She decided on the name tesa, taking the first two letters of her surname and last two from her first name. A single product range was developed of technical adhesive tape which then went on to develop an ‘umbrella’ band in 1941, applied to all the Beiersdorf group’s self-adhesive products.
Now in it’s 80th year, tesa is a global provider of self-adhesive tapes and products for the industry, trade, and the consumers in key sectors including stationery. They are a multi-product brand who focus on high performance and reliability that has seen more than 50 percent of its sales generated by products just within the last five years.
Showing the brand is not too old for innovation, their latest products will be on show at this year’s Stationery Show at the Business Design Centre, London on the 27th and 28th April and then at the Office Show, Excel London on 11th and 12th May.
