VIPRE ranks in top five for Real-World Protection Test

VIPRE Security Group has been ranked in the top five vendors in the Real-World Protection Test, conducted by AV-Comparatives.

The Business Security Test 2022 (March – June) is the first half-year report of AV-Comparatives Business Main-Test Series of 2022, containing the results of the Business Real-World Protection Test (March-June), Business Malware Protection Test (March), Business Performance Test (June), as well as the Product Reviews.

The Real-World Protection Test mimics online malware attacks that a typical business user might encounter when surfing the Internet. Tested under Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit, VIPRE’s Endpoint Security Cloud ranked fifth out of eighteen leading vendors, achieving a 99.6 per cent protection rate.

David Corlette, Vice President, Product Management at VIPRE Security Group said, “as the threat landscape continues to evolve rapidly – with attack methods becoming increasingly sophisticated, businesses – and anti-virus vendors – are presented with sophisticated challenges to overcome.

"We are proud to have out-performed other SME security solutions, further showcasing the capabilities and protection of VIPRE’s Endpoint Security Cloud. Effective endpoint protection is more important than ever in today's modern threat landscape, and our solution combines a modern endpoint solution with time-saving efficiencies to keep organisations up and running seamlessly.”

Endpoint Security is considered the foundation of a successful cybersecurity strategy. VIPRE’s Endpoint Security Cloud protects at the file, application, and network layer – combining multiple layers of security with network and application agnostic DNS (Domain Name System) protection.

Another test included in the report was the Malware Protection Test, which requires the tested products to detect malicious programs that could be encountered on the company systems. VIPRE ranked a joint third position, achieving a 99.8 per cent malware protection rate.

The AV-Comparatives Business Main-Test Series of 2022 provides IT managers and CISOs with a picture of the strengths and weaknesses of the tested products, allowing them to make informed decisions on which ones might be appropriate for their specific needs. It also demonstrates how the tested security solutions have adapted to the modern threat landscape and improved protection over the years.
